Inner West Counselling service

Counselling is a professional service that focuses on enhancing people’s capacity to cope with specific life challenges. Seeing a counsellor can help people resolve crises, reduce distress or anxiety and develop goals for change. Counselling can also assist with problem solving and the development of inner resources to move on with life in meaningful ways.

What do we offer?

Inner West Counselling Service offers low cost generalist counselling to individuals over 18 years of age.

Counselling is conducted by trained counsellors, intern psychologists or social workers in a private space and in a warm, caring and non-judgmental manner.

We are sometimes able to accommodate people from non-English speaking backgrounds. Please contact to ask about
bi-lingual counsellors.

Some of the issues that can be brought to counselling are:

  • Stress or anxiety
  • Feeling hopeless or worthless
  • Relationship difficulties or separation
  • Behavioural changes or difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Domestic violence
  • Self Development and self awareness

If our counsellors believe that a client requires a more specialised service, an appropriate referral will be given.

We believe that counselling should be available to those who need and want it, so our fees are based on a sliding scale, according to income and no one is ever turned away due to limited finances.

Our service is unfunded and all our counsellors donate their time, so contributions are also welcome.

To make any appointment, call B Community Welfare Services on 9744 1866.

Please give your name and the best phone number for us to contact you on to the reception staff. One of the counsellors will contact you on that number to discuss your needs. After this, you will hear from us again within a week regarding an appointment.

We'd love to hear from you
