Mini Garden project | Update

Our Mini Community Garden project is off to a great start and we are so excited! Brenden from Community Greening Royal Botanical Gardens paid a visit to our garden site and now, thanks to his advice – and the input of volunteers and community members – we have a plan! Take a look, we can’t wait to get started.

Yes it’s a mud map, and it can change but that’s the beauty of a community garden – it’s  reflective of the whole community.

The next step is to install the first raised garden bed along with the wicking bed. This is scheduled for Wednesday 10th February. Please contact info@bcw.org.au if you would like to volunteer for this project or can share your knowledge. To ensure we can keep it COVID-safe, we can accommodate only a limited number of people so please register if you are interested.

Gardening can bring immense benefit to people from fitness to improving mental health. Starting this community garden has definitely increased our sense of community belonging and upped our gardening knowledge. If you want to learn about gardening or pick up some skills, this could be a great place to start.
