Volunteer Dispatch Support
• Inner West Meals On Wheels
• Based at Dutton Centre in Strathfield
• Friday morning (9am – 1pm)
Inner West Meals On Wheels is funded under the Commonwealth Home Support Program. We supply and deliver hot, chilled and/or frozen meals to frail aged seniors, people with a disability and /or their carers who live in the Strathfield, Burwood, Canada Bay and Ashfield Local Government areas.
Dispatch Support workers and Back-Up Dispatch Support workers are needed weekly on Friday mornings (9am-1pm) to help pack the meals into eskys ready for dispatch, to assist in getting the meals ready for the next day deliveries and help unpack supplier deliveries. Some cleaning and sanitizing may also be required. Volunteers will also be offered periodical free training.
Our volunteers provide an important service to their community by delivering meals to customers and making sure that they are “safe & well” each time they call. Volunteering for Meals on Wheels doesn’t require a big commitment but rewards are high!
• No experience necessary
• Police Check (statutory declaration may also be required)
• Working With Children’s Check
• Commitment to a 6-12 month timeframe
